Soccer and ballet

'
DJ Nolin mixin it up on the turntables...shinguards are in for 2009.

A little pregame ballet practice for MC and the gang.

MC portraying the pensive ballerina.

Nolin's 1st soccer game was a hit. His team "the Bears" were scoring machines...Nolin had a great time.

The boy got aggressive during game 1. This was just prior to the flying elbow.

baseball and cheering

The kids enjoyed going to the last Montgomery Biscuits game of the year...although Nolin was a little confused about what team to cheer for.

Adele really likes taking pictures and talking these days

MC got a chance to cheer with her Aunts Kelly and Kait at the Marist game. She was real excited bout the War Eagles.

Sweet Home Alabama!

We left Hawaii in mid-June and started our 3 week adventure to the far corners of America with a stop in Southern California.

Looking back through our pictures, we realize that we did a terrible job of taking pictures of everybody, so didnt get all the pictures of folks that we wanted to. So, what follows is only a small representation of the great friends and family we saw during our visits.

Shauna got to visit some of her old haunts from when she lived out there. We stopped by this place called wht Wayfarers Chapel which is just south of Palos Verdes, and it is an amazing piece of architecture and landscape. It is basically all glass, and framed by huge trees.

Nolin thought that the chapel was a good place to do some "Thriller" tribute dancing.

We were able to catch up with our friends Matt and Laura Vujovich, who live there, and Kristi Helmer, who was down in LA doing AF reserve duty. Kristi, Laura, and Shauna were roommates 10 years ago. Things have changed in the last 10 years!

Made the trip down the beautiful California coast to San Diego (Del Mar to be exact) to see the Tom and Jenny Caballero clan. They suggested a trip to Legoland, and they were right. Legoland was awesome! Highly recommend for folks with kids that are under 8. Below, there we are standing in front of SF Bay.

Our Wally World shot.

After some hectic times at LAX, we hopped a Delta flight up to Boston to visit the Nolin family. Went to the York Beach, Maine on a pretty day and the kids made a sandcastle with Grandpa's help.

The kids also made a seaweed pile, which was a new change for them. I dont think other folks at the beach were as excited about it as they were.

Went to Hampton Beach, NH to play skee ball and video games on the board walk. Nolin is a skee ball champ, and MC really likes the picture booth. Here they are riding motorcycles.

The kids with Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jayne (also known as Auntie Present).

The kids were excited by Nubble Lighthouse in Maine!

King of the Hill

Here Nolin and cousin Jackson were fighting off the Uncle Trav monster at Lake Rabun, GA.

Nolin celebrated his 5th birthday at Lake Rabun with a special airplane cake. Not sure if he liked it though....

....yeah, he liked it. Papa is ready for football season (42 days).

Adele is unsure of the 4th of July wear, but MC and cousin Claire approve.

The kids favorite thing about our new place is the amount of bubbles that the new tub can make.

The humidity down here is really doing something to their hair.

Yall come see us here in Montgomery, it is a really nice town and we love our neighborhood. Also, there is really good shopping here in Montgomery. See the attached link for a sample (this is real) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ3oHpup-pk

Have a good one,

Heading East soon!

We have a graduate!  Pre-Kindergarten is a distant memory now for our boy Nolin.  Notice the Lei--a nice Hawaiian tradition that we will miss...the lei get stacked up and look like neckbraces on high school graduates

The proud family of our graduate!
Where did all this blond hair come from?
Graduation Day also happened to be our Wahine, Adele Elise's first birthday.  She enjoyed the cake and chinese food at PF Chang's.
Gimme some cake!

"I can't believe that I ate the whole thing."

On Memorial Day, we went and visited the "Mighty Mo", the USS Missouri which is a museum now in Pearl Harbor.  Even for an Air Force family, it was pretty impressive.

This is the sight of the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945.  Pretty amazing.

Last day of school for Nolin...who needs summer to break bones?  Nolin got an early start. Notice the cast from where Nolin P. broke his elbow by doing his best superman impersonation off of a dresser.  Crossing our fingers that the cast comes off this week.

Waimea Valley audubon park and falls was a nice place to spend one of our last weekends in Hawaii.

MC is a big fan of waterfalls.

This is the "we just got our house rented" jubiliation dance that MC is doing below.

We move out of our house on Sunday, and down to a hotel on Waikiki for 10 days.  Then, fly out on the 17th of June, and looking forward to a great summer adventure.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone, having some sweet tea, Chic-fil-a, and Dunkin Donuts coffee...but mostly looking forward to seeing everyone.  Yall have a good summer.
