Its beginning to look alot like....

every other day in Hawaii--but it is Christmas time.  The kids are enjoying themselves, all is well.  We had a nice thanksgiving, and any holiday where we can all be together is a good one.  Last weekend went to the museum with the shark exhibit, then to Ala Moana Mall (downtown) for a Christmas show and parade...during the show, it actually snowed in Hawaii, the kids were fired up!

Jim's office Christmas party was out at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps base which is probably one of the prettiest pieces of real estate in the world.  It is on the other side of the island from Honolulu, and a world away.  The next day, the office and families got together to take a boat out to the sandbar in the middle of the bay...it was real pretty.

Then the kids went and shook their tailfeather to some Christmas tunes at the lighting of the freedom tower on Hickam AFB.  If you watch the movie Pearl Harbor, the real tall tower there, that is it.  They light it up like a big Christmas tree.  Anyway, they really enjoyed dancing.

And to complete our saturation of Christmas events, the kids went and saw Santa at the Hickam AFB Officer's Club this morning.  No crying and they all enjoyed it.  The O Club is right at the entrance to Pearl Harbor, so we took some pictures there, cause it was a real pretty morning.  There was a ship coming in and a sub going out of the harbor that the kids wanted to wave at. Hope that yall are having a good Christmas Prep time.  Go War Eagles, good luck to Kelly and Kait next Friday at the State Championship!

Happy Alohaween!

You knew that we would have a blog of Halloween, and wanted to do so before Thanksgiving, so here we go.  Pictures below are from the carving of pumpkins, pre-Halloween pics in the backyard, the act of Trick-or-Treating in Hawaii, and post-game pictures of Adele.  Momma picked out 2 outfits for Adele--starting with Snow White and then a more comfortable Scarecrow outfit.  Nolin P was wearing an Ebay special "Robot" that seemed to not fit just right, and Mary Caroline was a Cowgirl Princess, complete with Pink Cowgirl boots at the princess' insistence.

All are a little sad at how the Dawgs played today.  Y'all have a good November.

Adele was very proud of her first successful attempt at trick-or-treating!

Moving in July!

Hi all...things continue to chug along with the Hawaiian Harris Fam, soon to be residing in Alabama...that's right, Alabama starting in July 2009.  Those that are familiar with the Air Force--we'll be heading to Montgomery for ACSC.  It will just be for a year, and then who knows where, but we are excited about it.  It is a good thing for us.

Included are a few pictures from a family vacation down in Waikiki, a Hawaii Sunrise out our backdoor, and just a couple of pictures of the fam.  Hope that yall are well.  If you want to come visit us in Hawaii, let's do it, cause we will be out of here in about 8 months.  See yall soon,

Formal pictures and Guam

View of the West Maui Mountains, Haleakala, and Mauna Loa at Sunrise on the way to San Diego.  Not one of the ugliest places in the world.

Jim was out of out of pocket for a trip to Guam, the Phillipines, and San Diego, and Shauna had the 3 monkeys all by her lonesome.  When we all got together again, it was time for some formal pictures.   They did good, and Nolin was trying out some new smiles.    Oh yeah, just below is where Nolin wanted us to paint a football field in the backyard.  The M is for Michigan (or maybe Marist) and there ws a G on there somewhere too.  Hope that yall are doing good.

Picture landing on Guam at Sunset.  That is the runway right there on top of the 500' cliffs.

Adele Swingin and Nolin's Glasses

All is well with the Hawaii residing Harris fam.  Momma and Dad are amazed that Adele turns 4 months old tomorrow, and looking forward to the rice cereal.  More videos to follow for sure.  Nolin is doing well in school, Mary Caroline is in all her glory as a 2 year old.  Football season is here, and we dont have anything to complain about.   Hope that yall are all well,

Nolin lookin alot like Papa doing homework on a Sunday night.  There are no felt-tip markers available though.

Adele's 1st Swing in the backyard.  The musketeers are rockin' on Alelo St.
Adele showing off big blues in the jumparoo!

Makin some noise!  That is Daddy doing the zerbert sounds, not Baby Adele.

Swingin, and liking it.  Hold on, Daddy figures out that the camera is sideways about halfway through

Oh, the places that we have been...

Wow, being gone for 5 weeks sure has been fun, but also good to get back home. We really enjoyed seeing alot of family and friends that we only get to see rarely. Well, here are the highlights--started off going to New Hampshire, then Jim left for Oklahoma for a class while Shauna and the kids stayed up there with Grandpa and Boba. Did get to Boston Common and ride on the Swan Boats! Highlights included a trip to Canobie Park Amusement Park, York Beach on a chilly day, the Manchester Fishercats minor league baseball game, and just spending time visiting. Jim's highlights included getting back to see his babies and Spud.

Then, the herd rolled south to Georgia, to hang out with Meme and Papa and crew. We managed to get Adele Elise baptized with the help of her godparents, Joe and Beth Szucs. They graciously made the trip over from Houston with daughters Gracie Beth and Ella...those are some great young ladies. Then had some golfing with Uncle Trav, swimming at the pool, a trip to the Georgia Aquarium with Cousin Jackson and Cousin Claire, a nice get together to see many friends/family at Casey Bones' house, and a cheerleading extravaganza put on by Aunts Kelly and Kait. If that wasn't enough, the kids got worn out at Monkey Joe's Jumpcastle house (2 visits) and Jim got worn out hiking around Kennesaw Mountain with Dr. Riddle.

Then we headed up to one of our favorite spots in the world, Lake Rabun to hang out with family--Aunt Cici, Cousin MoJo, Cousin Elizabeth (Roll Tide!) were gracious to have us over to their place for the day, and then we hit Minnehaha Falls, nature walks, and went on the boat again the next day. Nolin even got to go tubing with his Meme and Papa. Then we did more hanging out back in Atlanta for a couple of days and then back up to New Hampshire for the DiPirro-Nolin wedding extravaganza.

Aunt Jayne and Uncle Kevin had a great rehearsal and dinner--nobody seemed nervous except for Mary Caroline. Then on August 9th, the sun shone brightly for the whole shooting match. The wedding went off without a hitch. Nolin served as ring bearer, and was really good. Mary Caroline was the prettiest flower girl around, and wanted to help her daddy do the reading. Then, Jayne and Kevin smiled throughout their vows, and bam, it was official! The reception at Andover CC was great, and Nolin really showed how he could shake his tailfeather on the dancefloor. Who would have thought that he could channel James Brown like that!

The following day, had the honor of taking the newlyweds to their cruise ship heading for Bermuda, and getting lunch with Boba and Grampa at Anthony's Pier 4 down on Boston Harbor...neat setting and good food. Finally did a little more relaxing and had some good meals (including Cracker Barrel with Boba, Grandpa, Aunt Mary Beth, and Tina) and then it was time for us to enjoy 18 hours of travel back to Aloha land.

Great trip, but good to get home for sure. Enjoy just a sample of the pictures....we probably have over 1,000 from the trip if you are really interested.
